If your ms is accepted for publication, Run Amok will take care of all aspects of the book’s publication, at no cost to you. In a word, we DO NOT charge authors anything for our services. However, we do expect authors to be strong participants in the promotion of their book, and authors who already have an online presence/platform will be given priority. We are putting together a collection of essays tentatively titled Miscellany: Essays by Young(Ish) American Voices (From the Fringe). We’re looking for personal essays by writers who considers themselves (1) youngish and (2) outside the mainstream. The projected pub date is later in 2018 and we’d like all submissions in by December 31, 2017.
Just to be clear and transparent, we are a small indie press. We all volunteer our time. We simply cannot pay all contributors for this miscellany. However, we will offer complimentary copies and the opportunity to buy more at cost (and pocket the profits). If it goes well this year, we will pay contributors for volume 2 (2019).
